Exploring Synergies in Senior HomeCare: Part 2
This is the 2nd post in a 3-part series that explores natural synergies between 4 key senior homecare options to facilitate quality independent living for our seniors who wish to age in place. Aging in place is by far the best option in senior living that an elder can have. It has been shown that our seniors just enjoy living independently in their own homes cherishing the independence and surroundings. Home Sweet Home, indeed! An AARP’s survey bears this out with >80% of seniors wanting to age in their own homes. That is they wish to grow old without having to move from their own homes.
The concern being as how to effectively address changing health and other factors including possible isolation related safety issues. And addressing these issues can be overwhelming. Home care assistance becomes of great importance as caregivers prepare to deal with these important decisions. Home caregivers have to consider several senior care options in making sure they are safe and well in their own homes for as long as possible. However, this need must be juxtaposed with the cost effectiveness of the options they choose.
Cost Effective Senior Care Options
Fortunately, there are several senior care options that can enable a senior to stay in their own homes in safety. And from experience, a combination of these options allows for enhanced senior safety in their own home to enjoy their independent living surrounded by fond memories. These options are additionally effective when their natural synergies are exploited and thus facilitating quality and cost effective senior care.
Synergy: Alert Devices & Daily Care Calls.
Alert devices are beneficial in that they can summon immediate assistance to a person who is alone and in need of help. Thus, these alert devices are reactive – meaning the end user has to activate the device to summon help. A key weakness however, with the system requiring a reactive response is that it needs an active response from the user. But this may not always be possible, and thus will fail to protect, if a person is incapacitated or unconscious and unable to activate an alert.
However, this key weakness is greatly mitigated when these alert devices are used in conjunction with a daily care call wellness monitoring program. Not surprisingly, a combination of either automated telephone calls and/or live CareAngel™ Calls with correct use of an alert device, provides a potent seniorcare option to achieve peace of mind for both senior caregivers in assisted living options for seniors.
Daily Care Calls and Alert Devices – a Synergistic approach to quality senior care.
